UX/UI work

I’m Patrick, new to the world of UX! I enjoy storytelling through platforms like my brand, Applesauce & Crackers, traveling to places for one day just to eat, and competing in anything to where I can easily win.

As a rising UX writer, I specialize in crafting compelling content that shapes the voice and tone of brands. With a deep understanding of user experience and attracted to clear, concise communication, I ensure that every word reflects the brand's personality and resonates with the target audience. My strength lies in storytelling with words, transforming complex ideas into user-friendly, impactful messaging that not only engages users but also drives conversions.

Step 3: Develop Content Strategy

  • Voice and Tone: Define guidelines to ensure a motivating, friendly, and community-focused approach.

From step two I was able to develop a Style Guide which helped me create content guidelines for consistency.

Step 4: Collaboration

Design Meetings: Work with designers to integrate content into the website, app, and materials.

  1. Content Iteration: Collaborate on revisions for a seamless user experience.

Step 5: Writing

This is where the magic happens! My goal is to use a warm tone for welcoming messages and an enthusiastic one for event reminders. Involve club members in the review process to gather valuable feedback and make them feel valued. Regularly refine content based on analytics and member input to ensure clarity and effectiveness. Personalize communications to celebrate member achievements and enhance the sense of community.

Project Brief

Mad Miles Run Club is a vibrant community of runners dedicated to promoting fitness, fun, and camaraderie. As a UX writer, my role was to refine their digital presence by creating a consistent brand voice and tone that reflects their energetic and inclusive spirit. The goal was to enhance user engagement, streamline communication, and ultimately drive membership growth and participation in events.

Client: Mad Miles Run Club

Role: UX Writer

Process: Design Research, Empathizing, Ideating, Designing

Duration: 3 weeks

Communication is KEY

Collaborating with a great team consistently leads to exceptional outcomes. From the outset, our communication was seamless. Following the client kickoff meeting, we evenly distributed tasks to leverage our individual strengths while ensuring everyone was engaged and contributing throughout each phase of the design process.

Step 1: Understanding the project scope

Stakeholder Meetings: Discuss goals and constraints with organizers, members, designers, and developers.

Having a clear understanding of the project and including words with the users to keep them entertained throughout the use of the app.

Step 2: User Research

Executing a competitive analysis of other run club apps like Nike Run, All trails and Strava, my initial focus was to thoroughly examine the verbiage that these apps were using to keep their consumers intrigued and interactive with the app.

Also interviewing members of the run club and asking them what they desired from the Mad Miles Running App.

From here, I was able to distinguish three categories of mad miles members
